Are you Compassionate?

Compassion is a deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it.
Albert Einstein once said, "A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." Read More & Take The QUIZ...

But if muscle weighs more than fat, I must be built like the Incredible Hulk. (Only if the Hulk hasn’t exercised in months and avoids mirrors like the plague.) Read More & Take the Fast Food Quiz...

So what's your Sign, Baby?

Years ago, way before my daughter was born and I went into recovery, after a long night of clubbing with my friends, I stopped into a 7-11 for some coffee and a bite to eat. When I handed the young man behind the cash register a twenty, he took my hand, gently yet aggressively and asked, “Do you mind if I read your palm?” Drunk and feeling no pain, I replied, “Sure, why not?” As he examined the lines on my palm, he stated what I can only call the obvious. “You are confidant, energetic and need to be the center of attention.” Duh! (especially in my early twenties.) Read More and Get your Daily Horoscope...

My parents are moving out of our childhood home (very sad). Since my daughter and I do not own a home of our own (we rent), we had to go to their house and pick up the junk we had accumulated over the years.
